Om mig/About me

Hej!

Hello,

My name is Helén Varenius and I am a survivor of sibling abuse. Every time I read or hear of a person who is or has been subjected to sibling abuse, I just want to shout “I see you! I hear you! I feel for you!”

It’s really hard knowing that something that has destroyed so many years of my life, still does not get a lot of attention in the society, is not considered important. I would like to try to change that.

I’m angry, very angry and with this emotion comes a wish and a will to change things and to make a difference. I know that a single person who really puts his or her mind to it actually can influence a lot. But I realize, at the same time, that Rome was not built in one day. I have so many or at least a few ideas about how to go about it and I’m not going to let go of this. You will therefore see more of me, be sure of that.

If nothing else changes, except that you understand what, how and why you are exposed or have been exposed to sibling abuse, then you automatically will feel so much better. That’s why I’ve started this blog, where I share different aspects of sibling abuse. I hope, of course, that it will give other survivors, the pieces they need to better understand their own situation. It is much more important at the moment than for example sharing with my own experiences with you.

I also hope, of course, that parents and others who want to learn more about sibling abuse will benefit from my blog.
